21st Century Education Skills Development

Nowhere in the United States is the current demographic shift more evident than in Vermont schools, where educators and school leaders are faced with new questions and challenges. To improve social and academic achievement for all students we work with educators in four critical areas:

  • assuring state and federal anti-harassment and anti-discrimination compliance.
  • strengthening positive social climates in learning environments.
  • creating educational equity in curriculum content and pedagogy
  • managing incident-based crises.

Given the range of issues that permeate classroom settings, it is essential for educators to consider their own individual challenges to addressing these issues and their impact on classroom practice and student learning. In order to create equitable learning experiences for every student, strategic curricular responses must be developed that strive for cultural responsiveness.
