If you believe you have been the victim of discrimination from a Vermont government agency, public service or private business based on your actual or perceived age, color, creed, disability, gender (sex), gender identity, marital status, national origin, or sexual orientation, and wish to file a complaint, please consult any of the links below for additional information.

There are important differences in the patchwork of federal and state laws that govern discrimination. For example, under federal law you must be a bona fide member of a protected category to receive protection under federal statutes. There are also fewer protected categories under federal law when compared to Vermont statutes.
